All Senior Citizens are Entitled to Equal Protection!
The idea that all of our seniors in need of medical and nursing care should be treated properly and in a dignified way regardless of race, gender, religion and sexual orientation seems obvious. Unfortunately, as the first generation of openly gay and lesbian people become seniors, evidence of ongoing discrimination against them in nursing homes and other care settings is becoming more apparent.
Discrimination against any class or type of persons in nursing homes and care facilities is both inappropriate and illegal. This story is a harsh reminder that we must protect all seniors’ rights, every day:
